AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed strong support for Operation Sindoor, the recent Indian military strikes targeting terrorist camps deep inside Pakistan. Owaisi emphasized the need to dismantle Pakistan’s terror infrastructure and deliver a “tough lesson” to the Pakistani deep state to prevent future attacks like the one in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 25 Indian nationals.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Hyderabad MP welcomed the precision strikes carried out by the Indian Armed Forces, stating, “I welcome the surgical strikes carried out by our defence forces on terror camps in Pakistan. The Pakistani deep state must be taught a tough lesson so that another Pahalgam never happens again.”

Owaisi further added, “Pakistan’s terror infrastructure must be completely destroyed. Jai Hind!”

The Congress party also voiced its support for the operation, calling for national unity in the fight against terrorism. Congress spokesperson Jairam Ramesh took to X, emphasizing that the party stands firmly behind the Indian Army’s efforts. He stated, “India’s commitment to eliminating all sources of terrorism in Pakistan and PoK has necessarily to be uncompromising and always be anchored in the supreme national interest. This is a time for unity and solidarity.”

Ramesh continued, saying, “Right from the night of April 22nd, the INC has been categorically stating that the Govt will have our fullest support in the nation’s response to the Pahalgam terror attack. The INC is standing firmly with our armed forces.”

Earlier, India carried out its deepest military strikes in Pakistani territory since 1971, successfully targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). This marked the most significant military action New Delhi has taken within Pakistani borders in over five decades. The strikes were launched as a direct retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack and to eliminate top leaders of terror outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), who have been responsible for planning and executing numerous attacks in India.

In its official statement, the Ministry of Defence explained, “A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched OPERATION SINDOOR, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed.”

The statement further clarified, “Our actions have been focused, measured, and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution.”

The operation, carried out by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, successfully struck nine terror targets, including four in Pakistan—Bahawalpur, Muridke, and Sialkot—and five in PoJK. These sites were selected due to their association with top JeM and LeT commanders, who have been instrumental in organizing terrorist activities against India.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, sources confirmed, kept a close watch on the operation, monitoring its progress throughout the night. The operation was strategically planned to ensure that the terror leaders responsible for orchestrating attacks on Indian soil were neutralized without triggering a larger conflict.

With all nine targets successfully hit, the Indian forces have sent a strong message that they will not tolerate terrorism emanating from Pakistan and are prepared to take decisive action to protect the nation and its citizens.
